Durch die verminderte Kammerwasserbildung kommt es zu Senkung des Augeninnendruckes. Anwendungsgebiete:

• Erhöhter Augeninnendruck (intraokuläre Hypertension)
• Chronisches Weitwinkelglaukom
• Bestimmte Fälle von Sekundär-Glaukom (einschließlich Aphakieglaukom)

Timophtal belongs to the category of non-selective beta-blockers. Timolol inhibits the beta-adrenergic receptors of the eyes’ ciliary body, thereby reducing the production of aqueous fluid. The reduction of the aqueous fluid in turn leads to a reduction in intraocular pressure.

Timophtal 0,5%-sine single dose eye drops come in practical single-use dosages which makes them gentler on sensitive eyes.
